Join me for an anatomy minute!

The semitendinosus is a long, superficial muscle in the posterior thigh (hamstring) that originates at the ischial tuberosity ("sit bone") and inserts on the proximal medial tibia. It works to flex the knee, rotate it medially, and extend the hip, making it crucial for running and walking.

This week's microbiome definition:

PATHOBIONT

Pathobiont bacteria are commensal organisms that can become pathogenic under conditions of terrain disruption. Overgrowth of "bad bacteria"is a SYMPTOM of terrain collapse, not root cause of the problem. We often think of having a bug in our gut as the cause of an illness. The truth is the bug is a symptom of the collapse of a healthy terrain. The environment of your body and life creates what bugs live in and on you.

What does that mean for you? Your commensal organisms can turn bad if you do not lead a healthy lifestyle. Rest, stress reduction, proper diet, exercise, avoiding antibiotics and pesticides, and having healthy and loving relationships keep your commensal bacteria from turning on you!

If you are interested in building a healthy microbiome and learning how to feed your commensal bacteria for life long health consider investing in yourself and joining me for Upside-Down Nourishment or returning to Upside-Down Nourishment personalized programs, please fill out this form to see if we might be a good fit to work together. Do not let distance stop you! I work with clients all over the world via Zoom!

REMEMBER, self care is health care! If you don't care for yourself you won't be able to care for anyone else.

Have a beautiful day!

Lisa
